Rahoon Newcastle GAA is one of the oldest GAA Clubs in the Country being established in 1889. Our
Club has undergone a huge transformation in the last 30 years becoming a suburb of Galway City. We
established our Camogie section in 2016 and on Sunday last the 23 rd of March we fielded an adult
camogie competitive team for the first time ever.
Our membership numbers have tripled to close to 1000 members in the last 8 yrs. In 2017 John Hanbury
became the first member of our club to win a Liam McCarthy medal with the Galway Senior Hurling
team.
We have continually invested in our facilities to the tune of €1.8milion over the last 25yrs to provide the
best resources possible for our community and we opened our second full size pitch recently to cater for
our ever-increasing membership.
As part of our Club fundraising, we are offering businesses the opportunity to enter a limited draw for
€100 and to win a sponsorship package to the value of Five Thousand euros. The winners of the draw
will become one of the main sponsors of our Intermediate team for the League and Championships of
2025 and 2026. Previous winners include Atlantic Print and Design (2019) Buddha Bar (2021) and Tom
Nally Barbers 2023.
The winner of the draw will become main sponsor on the front of our jersey, with 2 nd prize on the back.
We will be including a charity partner on the sleeve of our jersey. Our Club will purchase all the gear
being provided. Our Club will acknowledge all entrants to the draw on a poster in the clubhouse and on
all its social media channels and extensively throughout our membership, supporters, and wider
community.
